Overscale Plaid – Black Cuffs/Red Palms

Since the Tartan mittens have been so popular, I decided this over-scaled plaid sweater that I bought for my husband, but he never wore, would be my next “cut-up” (my name for sacrificed sweaters). Combinations of loden green, oatmeal, and red will be the palms and linings. I haven’t completed cutting up the sweater, so I am not sure how many pairs of mittens I can make. Since I am cutting it on the diagonal, that will limit the number also.  Expect that I will make at least 6 pairs of mittens from this large sweater.  This version of the Overscale Plaid Mittens have black cuffs and red palms made of boiled wool.  I lined the mittens with loden green fleece. Remember that due to the large size of this plaid pattern, every pair will be somewhat different.  Like snowflakes, each one is different.
